i screamed for you
i needed you, begged and pleaded for you
but in return it was all a lie.
the beaconing call was to much to bear
she could look through to your soul
reach out, grab it and chill it to the bone
her stare, every movement was her own,
she'd pull out your soul, shake it and send it back to hell
how could i love this gifted curse

It amazes me how we don't really pay attention to the people around us sometimes, until they aren't there anymore, and then you have some profound realization of "wow...it's weird that they aren't here anymore." Or just expect the people you see everyday to be there regardless of life in general. Like the people I see at work everyday...I've seen a lot come and go, but there are the general ones that have either been here before I started, started with me, or just after me that I see everyday I go to work, and I expect it. There aren't many of the ones here that I started with, and it always shocks me when they leave because even though I don't truly know them, seeing and interacting with them is part of my daily work routine and not seeing them throws the whole way I work off.
I guess what it comes down to is normality. Humans love the comfort of knowing what to expect, and when you change what they are used to, they freak. It's like throwing a salt water fish into a fresh water aquarium. They are almost definitively doomed. But some of us adapt. Life is all about adapting right? You have to be ready and willing for change, or else you'll be left behind. It has and will always be like this, because humanity loves learning and being superior. Which is why we criticize people who act or really are stupid, and people who don't try. We have struggled through millions of years of evolution, that humans hate to see one of their own kind not appreciate it.
We believe this so much in fact, that we have to prove to each other that we are superior to our brethren, which honestly is quite dumb, but when it happens it makes the huffy one always feel more important which gives his ego and super boot to be even more of an asshole, and it makes the person he's doing it to feel like a loser and lower than dirt. There is no reason for this outside of proving yet again that we believe we are the superior beings. We have no true idea that we are however. We just like the idea.
